Why You Should Become a Qualified Lifeguard This Spring!
Dive into a New Career
Are you looking for a job that’s more than just a paycheck? Whether you’re a student looking for flexible hours, a fitness enthusiast wanting to stay active, or someone looking to kickstart a career in the leisure industry, the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is your golden ticket.
This spring, we are hosting NPLQ courses across our centres, and we are looking for the next generation of lifesavers to join the team.
Why take the NPLQ?
The NPLQ is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the UK and Ireland, but the benefits go far beyond the poolside:
-
Skills for Life: You’ll gain a nationally recognised qualification in First Aid, CPR, and automated external defibrillator (AED) use. These are skills that stay with you forever, no matter where your career takes you.
-
Build Your Confidence: Lifeguarding requires quick thinking, clear communication, and leadership. You’ll develop the ability to stay calm under pressure and take charge in emergency situations.
-
Flexible Employment: Lifeguarding is one of the best roles for anyone needing a flexible schedule. Whether it’s early mornings, weekends, or holiday shifts, it’s a job that fits around your life and studies.
-
Stay Active: Say goodbye to sitting behind a desk. You’ll be part of a dynamic, active environment where fitness and health are part of the daily routine.
-
A Stepping Stone: Many of our senior managers at Halo started their journeys as lifeguards. It’s the perfect entry point into the world of sport and leisure management.
Upcoming NPLQ Courses
Ready to take the plunge? We have courses running this March and April at the following locations:
Please note: Candidates must be 16+ years of age and able to pass a basic competency test in the water (swimming 50m in less than 60 seconds and treading water for 30 seconds).
How to Book
Spaces on these courses are limited and highly sought after. Unlike our standard classes, these courses must be booked by calling or visiting the hosting centre directly.
