Whether you are just starting out or a gym regular, this is your space dedicated to helping you achieve your goals, push your limits, and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

The gym has a range of cardio and resistance equipment such as bikes and treadmills as well as plenty of free weights. We’ve also got a dedicated strength and conditioning training area.

Aberfan Community Centre Swimming

Welcome to the world of water at Aberfan Community Centre.

Where you can enjoy:

  • 25 metre,  5 lane pool 
  • Aqua group exercise classes 

The pool is open in the morning until evening so you can get in the water at a time to suit your schedule!

FREE Swimming

There are 3 ways you can splash for no cash:

Children paying for their swimming lessons by Direct Debit can swim for FREE at any public swimming session.

Under 16’s and over 60’s can swim for FREE as part of the Welsh Government’s Free Swimming Initiative (FSI).

FREE Swim Sessions. Please check your local pool timetable to see when we run these sessions. All you need to do is sign up for your FREE Halo card at Reception and swipe it each time you want to attend one of our free swimming sessions.

Aberfan Community Centre Swimming Lessons

From the first splash to streamlining stroke skills, there is a programme available to suit everyone.

We’ve helped thousands of babies, children, teens and adults to love the water. We see them grow into capable and confident swimmers. Our trained instructors take all abilities and access needs into consideration, ensuring everyone can learn this valuable life skill.

 

We also offer childrens and adult swimming lessons in Welsh.

Halo’s cafés have become a relaxation hub where our visitors enjoy food and drink with family and friends before and after their activity.
