Celebrate Volunteers’ Week

It’s Volunteers’ Week, and here at Halo Leisure, we are celebrating the incredible individuals who dedicate their time to making our communities healthier, happier, and more connected.

As a registered charity, our volunteers are the heartbeat of what we do. To celebrate this week, we are looking for new Halo Heroes to join our team. Whether you want to help combat isolation on land or build confidence in the pool, we have a rewarding role waiting for you.

Here are the specific volunteer positions we are recruiting for right now:

Volunteer Drivers

  • Locations: Torfaen (supporting Feel Good for Life & other projects) and Herefordshire (supporting Feel Good for Life – Dementia Friendly programmes).

  • The Impact: You will be a lifeline for isolated individuals, helping them get out of the house and access vital social and physical activities at their local Halo Centre.

  • What you need: A reliable car, a valid driver’s license, suitable insurance, and a willingness to help. Halo will fully fund and arrange your enhanced DBS check.

Helpers in the Water

  • Locations: Tenbury and Gloucestershire.

  • The Impact: You’ll be right in the pool, assisting children during their swimming lessons and helping them learn a vital, life-saving skill. It’s the perfect way to build your own confidence, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • What you need: You must be aged 14 or older and feel confident in the water. No formal qualifications are required—we provide ongoing training!

Welsh-Speaking Swimming Support

  • Locations: Across all Welsh Regions.

  • The Impact: Use your Welsh language skills to support our Swimming Lesson Programmes. You’ll be helping native speakers and learners alike dive into a healthier lifestyle while keeping the Welsh language thriving in the community.

  • What you need: Just your Welsh language skills and a passion for supporting others!
