Reclaiming Strength: Enid’s Journey Back to Movement at Bridgend Life Centre
Enid’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, expert support, and community. Fourteen years ago, Enid embraced movement at Bridgend Life Centre, participating in gentle gym workouts and enjoying the uplifting aqua classes. But as life threw unexpected challenges her way, including medical complications that impacted her mobility, Enid found herself relying on a wheelchair and crutches.
However, Enid’s journey didn’t end there.
Thanks to the encouragement from the GP Referral Team at Bridgend Life Centre, Enid rediscovered the joy of movement. The team’s unwavering support, including personalised exercise adaptations and guidance, empowered her to regain strength and confidence. “The staff are always prepared to adapt exercises and offer any support needed,” Enid shares. “I’m so grateful to have this programme in my life.”
Each week, Enid attends the Band & Strength Group Exercise Class at the Centre. This dedicated time allows her not only to move and gain strength but also to be part of a social community. The encouragement and expertise of the staff have been key to Enid’s progress, and she wholeheartedly recommends the programme to anyone seeking support. “The staff are incredibly knowledgeable. If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask your GP about the programme.”
