Tom’s Medal-Winning Journey in the Pool

This month, we are celebrating a staggering achievement from one of our Herefordshire athletes, Tom, who has proven that dedication and access to the right training facilities are a winning combination.
Tom’s Achievement
Tom recently headed to the Worcestershire County Swimming Championships with high expectations. Not only did he qualify for every single event on the program, but he also delivered a masterclass in the water. Across the competition, Tom reached multiple finals and came away with over ten medals across all strokes.
The highlight of the meet? Tom was officially crowned Junior Champion in both the 50m and 100m Butterfly—a testament to the hours of hard work he has poured into his training.
The Power of Supportive Backing
While the speed and stamina come entirely from Tom, his mum, Emily, notes that being part of the Halo Sport Foundation has provided a vital boost. As a member of the Foundation, Tom receives a FREE annual training membership, allowing him to access Halo’s pools and gyms whenever he needs to hone his technique.
“Tom is grateful for the opportunities and encouragement the Foundation has given him,” says Emily. “It really has made a difference to his training and his confidence.”

The Halo Sport Foundation exists to ensure that aspiring athletes who face limited funding still have a pathway to success. We help athletes in Herefordshire, Bridgend County, and Torfaen County to focus on what matters most: their performance.
