More People, More Active, More Often: Celebrating one year at Meon Vale Leisure Centre 🏆

It was January 2025 when Halo Leisure—an award-winning social enterprise and registered charity—officially took over the ownership and management of Meon Vale Leisure Centre.

Our mission was clear: to get the Stratford-upon-Avon community moving. One year on, we are incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made in providing a space for gym workouts, group exercise, and sports hall activities that bring people together.

“We work to develop the activity offer for local residents who can access the facilities 7 days a week,” says Slavi, the General Manager for Meon Vale Leisure Centre.

“We’ve been able to bring not only new ideas but experience of and expertise from Halo’s other 30 sites in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Shropshire and South Wales who have been on similar journeys and seen astonishing results in terms of supporting local people’s health and wellbeing,” adds Slavi.

In this first year over 32,000 visits of local people of all ages have regularly enjoyed workouts and 28 Clubs regularly use the facility.

Slavi explained, “We want our Stratford-upon-Avon leisure centre to be a true community hub, helping more people stay active and healthy in a way that’s both fun and sustainable. We’re excited for what the next 12 months holds, and for the long-term future of the community we serve.”
