As the Government progresses the partial lifting of the ‘lockdown’, we want to share with you our plans and procedures on reopening our facilities - safely and surely.

We’ll give you more detail in due course - but for now, here’s a flavour of what’s happening as we move forward together...

We are working hard behind the scenes implementing all the policies and measures which are necessary to make you feel comfortable and safe when you return.

We can hardly wait to welcome you back (exact date at this stage still unknown but as soon as we know we will let you know!). There are signs of recovery with our golf course and athletics track now open in Herefordshire - the social distancing and safety plans we put into place for customers and staff are working well.

From July (this could be later for the Halo sites in Wales) we hope to have some activities on offer at our centres .  This is Phase 1 of our reopening and it is unlikely that all activities will be available straight away. The 'what and when' detail will follow updated advice from the Chief Medical Officer and the Government. NOTE - Hereford Leisure Pool will remain closed for the remainder of 2020 due to flood damage.

Things will look a little different, so here’s a sneak peek of how we are making it easier for you to maintain your social distance and exercise safely in Halo centres:

ALL activities MUST be pre-booked and prepaid before you set off for the centre

  • Social Distancing means no ‘walk-ups’. This is a new important safety measure - please do not turn up without a booking
  • You can pre book your space in the gym, group exercise class, pool, golf course and toning suite etc online or via the Halo Leisure app
    • download for FREE on Google Play or App Store - search for Halo Leisure and then the name of your local Halo centre (we are still developing some of the centre apps - bear with us if your centre's isn't there yet)

Cleanliness and Hygiene are everyone's responsibility

  • We will have an enhanced cleaning regime
  • There will be hand sanitising stations located around your centre for you to use as needed
  • No need to bring a towel, recycled paper towels will be available
  • Protect yourself and those around you by following social distancing rules
  • To protect everyone we are going to be cashless so contactless only payments please

Training Together & Social Distancing

  • Gym equipment will be spaced out and different areas of the centre may be used to give everybody more space (eg: a squash court could be used as a stretch zone)
  • We’ll reduce the capacity of group exercise classes where necessary so you have more personal space between you and others
  • Where outside facilities exist at your centre, some of our classes may be outside in the fresh air
  • We’ll reduce the numbers of swimmers in our pools so you can maintain your distance

Changing rooms and showers

  • Will be temporarily unavailable, please arrive on site wearing the appropriate clothing to be active.

What's happening with memberships and children's coaching lessons?

There is no need to contact us, we’ll be in touch with members via email before we reopen. But to anticipate a few customer questions now:

  • We have automatically frozen all membership and lesson/course payments so you do not have to pay while the facility is closed
  • Annual memberships will be extended by the number of months the membership has been frozen
  • When your centre is due to open, we will give you notice as to when we will restart your payments, you will be then able to book your activity
  • If you are not ready to restart your membership yet then there is no need to cancel we will be extending the option to continue to keep your membership frozen until you're ready to return

We look forward to welcoming you back.
