One Year Since the Flood at Hereford Leisure Centre

On 19th September 2024, Hereford Leisure Centre faced one of its biggest challenges. After heavy flooding swept across the county, our centre was left devastated.

• Sports hall floors were ruined.

• Reception and offices were damaged.

• The gym floor and equipment had to be replaced.

• Soft play was closed.

• Entire spaces became unusable.

But the story of the last year isn’t just one of damage. It’s one of determination, resilience, and community spirit.

The Recovery Journey

Work began almost immediately. Over the following months, Hereford Leisure Centre underwent a full refurbishment to restore and refresh every space. We:

• Replaced the sports hall floor and base, installing a brand-new Pulastic surface.

• Fitted new flooring in reception, staff offices, and communal areas.

• Renovated the soft play area with fresh paint, new flooring, and a brighter design.

• Upgraded the gym floor and equipment, creating a more modern layout.

• Carried out extensive electrical and plumbing works.

• Refreshed and redecorated throughout the building.

Behind the scenes, our Halo team worked tirelessly, from temporary reception desks and rerouted entrances to endless hours with tools, paint, and problem-solving.

It took time. It took effort. And it took an enormous amount of care.

Whether you continued visiting during the works, cheered us on from the sidelines, or simply waited until the doors were fully reopened. Your encouragement meant everything.

This wasn’t just about repairing a building. It was about resilience, teamwork, and keeping our community active, social, and connected.

A Fresh Start for Hereford Leisure Centre

By August 2025, the work was complete, and Hereford Leisure Centre is back to full strength.

With brighter spaces, refreshed facilities, and a renewed sense of purpose, we’re ready for the future. Today, as we reflect on how far we’ve come, we’re reminded that Hereford Leisure Centre isn’t just a leisure centre, it’s a centre of community built on determination, care, and people coming together.
