Celebrating the Women Who Make Halo Move

This International Women’s Day, we’re looking at what happens when we give our energy, our time, and our support to one another. The result? A community where every woman, regardless of age, shape, or ability, can thrive.

At Halo Leisure, our mission has always been to get more people, more active, more often. But we know that “getting active” looks different for everyone. For some, it’s about a personal best; for others, it’s about finding the confidence to walk through the front door.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2026 is ‘Give To Gain.’ It’s a reminder that when we give generously, whether it’s a word of encouragement to a fellow gym-goer or a mentor sharing their knowledge, we don’t lose anything. Instead, we multiply the support available to everyone. When women thrive, we all rise.

Meet The Inspirational Women of Halo

We don’t have to look far to find inspiration. Our centres are filled with women who “Give To Gain” every day. Here are three incredible stories of women who found their rhythm at Halo:

Hannah: Giving Energy to Gain Pride

For Hannah, heading to Halo is about the next generation. She’s giving her energy to her fitness so she can be the active role model her child looks up to.

“I head to Halo so my son can say, ‘That’s my mum!'”

Kay: Giving Patience to Gain Recovery

After facing a serious injury, Kay’s journey hasn’t been easy. She has given her time and determination to her rehabilitation, gaining back her strength and independence one session at a time. Her resilience is a reminder that the pool and gym are powerful places for healing.

Whatever Your Goal, Whatever Your Reason…

We see women like Hannah and Kay every day. By giving their energy to their health, they gain the vitality to show up for their families, their recovery, and their own mental wellbeing.

What Will You Give to Gain?

This year, we’re asking our community: What will you give to support the women around you? Maybe it’s:

  • Giving Support: Like Hannah, being a visible inspiration to the next generation.

  • Giving Encouragement: Supporting someone like Kay as they navigate a comeback from injury.

  • Giving a Smile: Making sure someone like Carole feels the social connection that makes a workout worthwhile.
