Snowsports Centre at Pontypool Active Living Centre

Set in the heart of picturesque Pontypool Park, the Snowsports Centre is one of Wales’ leading snowsport centres, with over 50 years of experience training skiers, snowboarders, instructors, coaches, and racers.

Home to Wales’ longest slope at 230 metres, plus a dedicated beginner’s area, ski lift, sprinkler system, and bump run, we’ve got everything you need—whether you’re just starting out or building your skills.

  • Skiing: From first-timers to seasoned skiers, our facilities offer the ideal setting to develop and refine your skills in a supportive environment.

 

  • Snowboarding: Whether you’re learning the basics or mastering new tricks, our centre is the perfect place to sharpen your snowboarding skills.

 

 

  • Tubing: Enjoy the excitement of tubing down the slopes – a fun-filled activity that’s perfect for all ages and guaranteed to make you smile!
  • School & Youth Groups: Our tailored sessions for schools and youth organisations encourage teamwork, confidence-building, and physical activity in a fun, engaging environment.

Good to Know

First-Time Bookings: If this is your first visit to the ski slope, you must call 01633 627 100 before booking. Our team will then set up your account and send you a waiver form to complete. Once we’ve received your completed waiver, you’ll be able to make all future bookings easily through the Halo app or website.


Waiver Form Information:

A waiver form must be completed before your first session. Please call 01633 627 100 to book.

  • You do not need to complete a new form for each visit.

  • For children under 17, please complete the form using their details.

Recreational Sessions: Each session includes 1.5 hours on the slope (plus 15 minutes setup/take-down). Equipment hire is included in every session.

 

Toilets are available at the slope, and additional facilities can be found at Pontypool Active Living Centre, including changing rooms, toilets, and a café.

  • Free parking available
  • Please report directly to the ski slope for your session

Participant Requirements:

  • Must already be at a recreational standard.
  • Those not meeting this standard may be asked to leave the slope.
  • Self-teaching and peer-teaching are not permitted.
  • Please wear: long sleeves, trousers, gloves, and ideally a waterproof jacket and trousers.
