In Herefordshrie, Highworth and Shropshire we are opening our doors so people 40+ can try a range of different activities for free.

Whether it’s some gentle stretching, a dip in the pool or a trip to the gym - you can get back to a healthier you. Adults across England are invited to get their skates on next week - or at least their trainers. Public Health England are launching the One You Wednesday campaign in a bid to get adults across the country - particularly those in their 40s, 50s and 60s - more active and Halo is one of hundreds of leisure operators getting behind the six week initiative with One You Wednesdays. Want a piece of the action?

It’s simple - download your activity voucher at ukactiveoneyou.com take it along to your local Halo Leisure centre on any Wednesday between 30th August and 27th September where you enjoy a little taster to get you going. Activities on offer include gym, swim, golf and toning suite.

“Without knowing it, by the time people reach their 40s and 50s many will have dramatically increased their chances of becoming ill later in life. Whether we are eating the wrong things, drinking more alcohol than we should, continuing to smoke, or just not being active enough, all of these things add up” said Carl Gregg, Halo’s Health and Fitness Manager.

“Our mission at Halo is to get people more active more often. We know the difference that can make to their physical and emotional health. We love the idea of this campaign because it brings that message to adults in a new way, connecting people across the country, while signposting to local centres, and crucially expert support, they can access as they get moving. Our staff are warmed up and ready to welcome anyone who wants to give something a try. Everyone’s welcome, whatever their age or ability.”
