We know you don’t need reminding why it’s good to relax but we also know most of us can race through the days, weeks and months without officially stopping to make sure we schedule in some serious down time. Make this the day to do that.

Relaxation is one of the key ways to lower blood pressure, improve mood, slow breathing rate, improve sleep quality and reduce stress hormones and muscle tensions. What’s more it makes you more efficient when you have to get going (or get back to work again).

You might want to take a long walk with friends, or listen to music on the sofa at home, but check out our relaxation-promoting group exercise classes (like our Body Balance, Pilates or Yoga classes), a sauna or steam (perfect after a swim) and our family-friendly racket sports (see our exercise of the month for August!).
