Say what you like, but May has to be the best month of the year. The weather just keeps getting better, the parks are in full bloom, the tables outside cafes have a purpose, and there are not one but two Bank Holidays… This is the time to get out, get moving, and to get the most out of the sunshine.

- Rediscover the long walk. Head to one of the UK's lovely beaches, forests or parks…just pack a picnic and enjoy.
- Fill that said picnic with full-of-flavour seasonal fruit and veg, the most delicious way to spring clean your diet. A spinach and rocket salad, asparagus tips or Jersey Royals with fresh peas, broccoli and cauliflower florets with yummy dips. Top of May’s fruit list has to be rhubarb, with strawberries coming into their own too…January’s versions just don’t compare.
- Do more than one thing in the evening. Enjoy a swim and spa with friends and then walk into town for a long cool drink or reward yourself after a workout with a coffee and your favourite summer read in one of our cafes…
- Buddy up with a pal and discover the joy of running. If you’re a newbie, try the five- minute-run, five-minute-walk routine for the first two weeks, and then build up to seven-three, eight-two ratio. Before you know it you’ll be ready for a park run.
