Want to give a group exercise class a go but not sure which one's for you? We've tried to give you a flavour of our fitness classes below. Still stuck? Speak to a fitness instructor at your local Halo centre and they will be happy to help you identify the right class.


Aerobic Classes

Aerobics - A rhythmic aerobic exercise class that will raise your heart rate to give you a full body workout. Performing to motivating music with the goal of improving all elements of fitness. 1 hour workout.

Skiptrix - A Complete fitness programme for different class levels – Skiptrix Aerobics: a fusion of Jump Rope Skills blended with aerobics, Skiptrix Circuit: a bootcamp style class to push you to your limit, Skiptrix Skills Workout: fun and games for enthusiasts or push cardio fitness to an elite level. With 3 different class styles, 37 levels and literally 100′s of jump rope skills to master, which ever class you choose, there is something for everybody’s body! Find out more click here.

Keep Fit- A cardio based class that works through different muscle groups providing a full body workout suitable for all abilities.

Toning Classes

Body Tone - A full body conditioning and strengthening workout, improving functional strength, flexibility and coordination. Working on your core strength with less high impact cardio and more muscular strength. 1 hour workout.

Abs Blast - A class of hardcore abdominal work that focuses on toning and defining the abs while strengthening the back to improve posture and core strength. 30 minute workout.

Combat/Tone - Combat is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by mixed martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, Boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. 1 hour workout.

Gym Blast - 1 hour group exercise workout that takes place in the gym using the machines, free weights and exercise equipment to give you an all over body workout.

Booty Sculpt - For the tone & definition that gives you the feel good factor, Sculpt your booty, arms, abs & legs with a mixture of controlled body weight moves using light free weights and resistance bands, low intensity and impact so good for the joints, all ages and abilities very welcome.

Body Conditioning- A mix of resistance techniques such as Kettlebell and TRX suspension training to deliver a strong lean physique with a strong core and increased health & well being.

Conditioning- Focusesing on the upper body, using bodyweight which is a great all over body workout suitable for people of all abilities.

Strong-  Start training to the beat. Strong by Zumba combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. Every squat, every lunge, every burpee is driven by the music, helping you make it to that last rep, and maybe even five more. In our class you will burn calories while toning arms, legs, abs and glutes. Plyometric or explosive moves like high knees, burpees, and jumping jacks are interchanged with isometric moves like lunges, squats, and kickboxing. 

Vibe Power-A freestyle resistance class with the focus on strength and power – low reps with high resistance. It is predominantly a barbell based class but many aspects of equipment training can be utilised. This class gets participants results FAST and feels great too!

Indoor Cycling Classes

Indoor Cycling - Indoor cycling is a group exercise class performed on stationary bikes. During the class, the instructor simulates hill-climbing, sprints, and races. You will be motivated by the instructor, the people around you, and the music.

Vibe Cycle- A class performed on stationary bikes where you have control of your resistance level. A great way to work up a sweat and burn some calories.

TRX Spin - TRX spin is a combined class which gives you a full cardio workout for 30 min's in the spin studio on the indoor bikes, then a 30 minute TRX workout in the small hall where you will get the same workout as our normal TRX classes, this class is not for the faint hearted!!

Low Impact Classes

Pilates - Pilates is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body. The blend of strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group is overworked and the body moves as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity. 1 hour workout.

Stretch & relax - Fancy relaxing your mind and body, this class will do both and should be done as part of your daily routine, it reduces muscle tension, helps Coordination and helps increase your range of movement, helps prevent strains & generally makes you feel good.

Yoga - Yoga is an excellent class suitable for everyone. System of exercises for control of mind and body, improving breathing and alignment. Increase your flexibility and balance, relieve stress and relax!

Circuit Training Classes

Boot Camp - An interval class that mixes body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. Designed to be different all the time, we want to keep you guessing what's coming next- and challenge you in a different way every time! 1 hour workout.

Boxercise - Boxercise Provides an entire body workout based on the skills and techniques used in the boxing ring. A non contact class that provides a calorie burning workout suitable for all abilities.

Circuits - Challenging circuit class providing a great workout as you move through a series of exercises designed to elevate your heart rate and challenge your muscles by combining both cardio and resistance training in the same workout. 

TRX Circuits - The TRX Suspension Trainer class is the original, best-in-class workout system that leverages gravity and your bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. You're in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise - because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance, Born in the Navy Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously, a full body workout.

Senior Circuits - Senior Circuit is a slow class providing a good workout as you move through a series of exercises designed to lift you heart rate a little and work your muscles by combining both light cardio and light resistance training in the same workout, aimed at the over 50's.

Dance Classes

Zumba - Fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves. Routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms with resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt you while burning fat. 1 hour workout.

High Intensity Classes

Metafit - Metafit is a high intensity workout including a series of body-weight exercises with interval style training. Designed to keep your body burning calories long after your training session is complete. Designed by a former marine, this is a class you can be sure to push your limits in, it is only 30 minutes long but you will train hard the entire time and it is suitable for everyone, you can adjust the exercises to suit your own abilities.

50+ Classes/Specialist classes

Senior Circuits - Senior Circuit is a slow class providing a good workout as you move through a series of exercises designed to lift you heart rate a little and work your muscles by combining both light cardio and light resistance training in the same workout, aimed at the over 50's.

Water Based Classes

Aqua Aerobics - Tone and sculpt your body with no impact to your joints. This water aerobics workout is a swimming blend of cardio and resistance training, and may incorporate resistance tools such as buoyant water weights, hand paddles and floats. Day time classes last 45 minutes, evening classes last 1 hour.

Want a piece of the action? Members can book a class up to 14 days in advance online. You don't have to be a Halo member to take part, you can enjoy classes on a pay-as-u-go basis, you can book at your local Halo centre up to 7 days in advance or 8 days inadvance online.

The difference a membership makes with a Halo membership - you can enjoy fitness classes, swimming, gyms. Even if you are only doing 2 classes a week, taking out a Halo membership will save you money.
