Aerobic Classes

20/20/20 - Cardio, strength and core based exercises that can change every week. Each segment will be 20 minutes long. If you are somebody that likes variety, then you will love the spontaneity of this class. Fusing together intensities with different types of exercises creating intervals and variations that shock your body into getting fitter!

Aerobics - A rhythmic aerobic exercise class that will raise your heart rate to give you a full body workout. Performing to motivating music with the goal of improving all elements of fitness.

Aero-Fit -A high energy seated aerobics class providing a full upper body workout to improve cardio function, flexibility and core strength, whilst improving range of movement, co-ordination and upper body strength. This is for all abilities and can be performed on a Fitball, chair or in a wheelchair.

Step - Step is the energising workout that makes you feel motivated and alive. Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step.

BodyStep- A full-body cardio workout to really tone your butt and thighs. Combining basic stepping with moves like burpees, push ups and weight plate exercises to work the upper body. We play invigorating, hit music and inject a whole lot of fun and personality along the way, and you’ll leave buzzing with satisfaction. Step N Strength- Feel motivated and alive. Using a height adjustable step and combining core exercises that will help shape and tone those stubborn areas.

Circuit Training

Boxercise - Providing an entire body workout based on the skills and techniques used in the boxing ring. A non contact class that provides a calorie burning workout suitable for all abilities.

BoxFit - A mixture of body weight training and pad work to improve stamina, strength and upper body toning. Be mean to get lean!

Bootcamp Circuits - An interval class that mixes body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. Designed to be different all the time, we want to keep you guessing what's coming next- and challenge you in a different way every time!

Circuits - A class with multiple exercise stations focusing on specific muscle groups and types of fitness to give you an all over calorie busting workout.

TRX Suspension Training - A high intensity, interval and cardio training class that delivers a fast, effective total body-workout. A dynamic blend of circuit training, using the TRX suspension straps for a round of intense strength work using your own body weight to increase muscular endurance and will help build a solid core. You're in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise - because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance on the straps. To find out more click here...

Spinning - Indoor Cycling

MyRide - MyRide delivers a sensational indoor cycling video experience. The classes are virtually instructed providing users with a flexible and engaging approach to experiencing indoor cycling.

MySportif - Energetic workout following the world's greatest cycle tracks, with terrain from canyons to mountainside to urban streetscapes – all from within studio.

Spinning - An all-terrain ride that will burn calories, build strength, and improve fitness. The energetic music motivates each rider through a variety of speed and resistance challenges. Each class will take you on a creatively designed ride to maximize your fitness potential.

Indoor Cycling - Indoor cycling is a group exercise class performed on stationary bikes. During the class, the instructor simulates hill-climbing, sprints, and races. You will be motivated by the instructor, the people around you, and the music.

Resistance Classes

Kettlebells - Kettlebell training will help kick all your fitness goals into high gear!  Exercises work multiple muscle groups simultaneously, developing strength and muscular endurance and efficient caloric expenditure. Great for the arms, shoulders, back, legs and core!

Bodypump - The original Les Mills™ barbell class, will sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body, fast! Focusing on low weights and high repetition movements, you'll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning. To find out more Click here...

Dance Classes

Fitsteps - Mixing the graceful steps of Ballroom and the up tempo steps of the Latin dances to create a fun, energetic and effective way to stay fit and keep trim that would appeal to everyone. To find out more click here...

Zumba and Zumba Fitness - Fusing hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves. Routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms with resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt you while burning fat.

Zumba Gold - A low intensity workout to international rhythms focusing on all elements of fitness, including optional toning sticks for enhanced muscle conditioning.

 
Bokwa - Bokwa® participants draw letters and numbers with their feet while performing an energising and addictive cardio workout routine. Moving together to today’s most popular music, participants of all ages draw the Bokwa®. To find out more click here...

Fusion - A dance based aerobics sessions that mixes Zumba & Bowka together to the latest music trends and putting them in an exercise setting.

Wiggle it- This is a fun dance class suitable for individuals with support needs at Hereford Leisure Centre.

Jamm'in-You have got to try this fun dance-based fitness class. Jamm’in matches calorie-burning moves to a choreographed dance piece to the sound of Club, House, Hip Hop, Pop/Chart, Drum n Base and Trap & Street Anthems. Anyone can do it (no dance experience or great co-ordination necessary). By the end of the class you’ll not only be part of a fabulous group routine, your body and soul will feel super special.

 

High Impact Classes

H.I.I.T - HIIT is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. This interval-based class combines full body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts designed to tone your body, improve your endurance and clear your mind.

Intensity -  A high intensity all over body workout, which will not only boost your metabolism but will leave you buzzing for the rest of the day! We tend to offer this class first thing in the morning, to kick start your day!

Tabata - High intensity interval training that goes through a variety of simple, yet intense exercises. A series of four minute exercise sequences, each sequence is broken into ten intervals (20 seconds of intense work followed by 10 seconds of rest). Tabata is designed to boost your metabolism so it keeps burning more calories after the exercise is over.

Peak Energy - Fun and energetic full body workout, split into sections interval based cardio section and leg strength routine, Tabata sets and a continuous cardio section to include lower body exercises topped off with a strong core workout and stretch.Tough but fun routine with lots of pumping music!

Insanity-  A great total body workout  broken down in 3 to 5 minute blocks of intense workouts with breaks inbetween only long enough to gulp some air and to get right back to work. A class for you to keep pushing your limits, wokring to maximum capacity through your entire workout.

Body Combat - Body Combat™ is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by mixed martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, Boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. To find out more click here...

Toning Classes

Ab Attack - A class of hardcore abdominal work that focuses on toning and defining the abs while strengthening the back to improve posture and core strength.

Legs, Bums and Tums - Full body aerobic workout building in a whole series of exercises aimed at specifically toning up your legs, bum and tum. Hitting all three key problem areas in one fun-packed but very effective class.

Fitball - Fitball is a unique workout, that offers toning, strength building and stability exercises. Have a good time while moving to music, improving your balance, coordination and cardiovascular development.

Body Blitz - Body Blitz is resistance based exercise class that combines high and low impact moves with toning and stretching.

Fitball Fusion - The unique fitball workout using stability balls and adding weights to focus on core strength and stability and all round conditioning.

Totally Pound - Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND® transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.

Low Impact Classes

Body Balance - Ideal for anyone and everyone, Body Balance™* is the yoga-based class that will improve your mind and your body through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. To find out more click here...

Pilates - Pilates is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body. The blend of strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group is overworked and the body moves as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity.

Yoga - Yoga is an excellent class suitable for everyone. System of exercises for control of mind and body, improving breathing and alignment. Increase your flexibility and balance, relieve stress and relax!

Barre Concept - Focuses on toning and resistance exercises for the glutes, legs, torso, and arms to sculpt muscles and elongate the appearance of your body. Great for balance, coordination, and core strength development!

Body Balance Technique - A short pre class to learn the movement of the current release.

Yoga Flow - These vinyasa flow sequences will create a focus on breathing and self-energy while targeting specific areas of the body.

Coreworks - Challenging exercises to strengthen from the core outwards. Incorporating elements of pilates and yoga with deep stretching and relaxation.

Specialist Classes

Cardiac Support - A specialist class for people who have been referred by their GP. It is aimed at helping those with heart conditions to improve their overall and cardiovascular fitness.

MS Wellbeing - Gentle class specific to the needs of clients with MS, limited or poor mobility and/or physical disability and wheelchair users. This class aims to improve flexibility, posture, muscle tone/strength whilst also helping to improve balance and mobility and helping to maintain independence. The class is performed predominantly seated beginning with joint mobilisation from top to toe and stretching whilst gently raising your pulse rate.

Hearts in Action - Specialist class for people with degrees of heart failure. It supports the work of the cardiac team and forms part of your treatment plan to help you lead a more physically active lifestyle.

Gentle Mobility - Mostly chair-based. This class aims to improve balance, strength and mobility for those facing challenges with daily, functional activities.

50+ Classes

50+ Active - Exercise to music class with a focus on mobility, strength and flexibility.

Senior Active - Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscule strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated or standing support.

Water Based Classes

Mums in Motion - Experience the perfect balance of relaxation, laughter and exercise - a wonderful way to unwind and stay healthy during and after pregnancy.

Aqua Aerobics - Tone and sculpt your body with no impact to your joints. This water aerobics workout is a swimming blend of cardio and resistance training, and may incorporate resistance tools such as buoyant water weights, hand paddles and floats.

Aqua Attack - Great for water lovers! This high intensity dynamic workout includes cardio and muscle conditioning with easy to follow movements.

Aqua Cardio Kick - High intensity water based exercise focusing on high volumes of leg work.

Aqua Circuits - Combinations of cardiovascular and strength exercises for a total body workout, whilst working at your own pace.

Aqua Fit - Workout to music that offers both cardiovascular and muscle conditioning using the water's resistance to tone the entire body which remove stress to joints.

Aqua Movin' and Grovin' - A fun session to accommodate all levels of ability & ages. This class promotes fitness through invigorating water exercises using some equipment and of course customer participation in singing to a variety of   hits from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's current & latino tunes.

Aqua Bootcamp - This intense class is designed for those who wish to enjoy a full cardiovascular workout, while using the natural resistance of the water to help increase strength, power, endurance, and range of motion.

Aqua Resistance - A high impact low resistance water based aerobics class with added resistance using resistance bands providing a full body workout.

Want a piece of the action?

Members can book a class up to 14 days in advance through the book it option at the top of the screen. You don't have to be a Halo member to take part, you can enjoy classes on a pay-as-u-go basis, you can book at your local Halo centre up to 7 days in advance.

The difference a membership makes

With a Halo Complete Membership - you can enjoy fitness classes, swimming, gyms, golf, spa facilities and 50% off racket sports bookings: squash, outdoor tennis, table tennis and badminton. Even if you are only doing 2 classes a week, taking out a Complete Membership will save you money.
